The Palm Desert area is divided into three areas, Palm Desert South, Palm Desert North, and Palm Desert East. The residents of Palm Desert can enjoy reduced golf rates at city-owned Desert Willow Golf Resort.

La Quinta
Named by Money Magazine as one of America’s 10 best small towns, La Quinta’s charm is found in its Spanish heritage and cobble stone streets. Old town is unique with many restaurants, farmers markets and outdoor music festivals. It is also home to the famous La Quinta Arts Festival that attracts world renowned artists every March. For residents the city owned SilverRock Golf Resort designed by La Quinta resident, Arnold Palmer, is a challenging and beautiful 18-hole championship golf course that is nestled between the beautiful Santa Rosa Mountains. Its natural hazards include the local Big Horn mountain sheep that love to graze on the 16th, 17th and18th fairways. And of course the La Quinta Resort, which is prized by historians as the original retreat for California in the early 1900’s.

Palm Springs
“Like No Place Else”
It is returning as a Hollywood playground, a central gathering spot for modern architectural design aficionados, musicians and artists drawn by nature’s inspiration. Such events as the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Modernism Week, Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals. Or the openings of incredible unique museums such as the Architecture and Design Center in downtown Palm Springs, or nearby Sunnylands, with a public garden and walking paths inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings.
Perhaps it is the incredible desert evenings, when one can see a billion stars in the heavens, and a sky that seems to go on forever!!!
Maybe it’s the Hollywood glitz and glamour. The Rat Pack lived, loved and played her… It doesn’t get any better than that! Stars such as Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, and Bob Hope all built homes here (that you can now rent!). Maybe it’s shopping for modern treasures in UPTOWN DESIGN DISTRICT, dining alfresco under the warm evenings during the Palm Springs Restaurant Week!
But frantic and hurried it is not! The pace is relaxed, the colors are saturated by the warm desert light, which draws artists from around the world to paint. Nestle at the base of the majestic San Jacinto Mountains, the city of Palm Springs is the ancestral home of the Aqua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The streets lined with palm trees are perfect for exploring boutique shops, art galleries and museums.
If this isn’t enough to entice you…sour to the top of Mount San Jacinto on the aerial tramway, where you can hike for hours!
